Moving backwards from Outlook XP to Outlook 2000?

I had installed Office XP (ran it for 6 months), have
decided I hate it, removed it and re-installed Office
2000. I can find my .pst file, but can't read anything in
it.

Is what I'm trying to do possible?

TIA

When you say you can't read anything in it, what exactly do you mean -- what
have you done to try to restore it and what happens when you try to access
the data? Any error messages?

I imported my pst file (linda.pst). The import process
seemed to work fine, but there is nothing in it. No
contacts, no folders, no mail.

No error messages either.

TIA

I take it back. The import apparently ran quite a while
and I got the message:

Unable to update public free/busy data. Operation failed.

First of all, don't import from a .PST -- just open it instead, using
Outlook's File | Open | Personal Folders File command. It will open in your
folder list. You'll retain as much of your data and settings in their
original states as possible if you just open the file. (You can't open it
from Windows or any other program -- it has to be opened through Outlook.)

To clear that error message, try starting Outlook once with the
/CleanFreeBusy switch. If you need help using Outlook command line
switches, look here:
