moving and working with images

I am new to this digital photo stuff. Very confusing to me. My question is
that I had a bunch of photos in my Photo Suite software, I don't know what I
did but some of the albums disappeared. Won't show in folders when you do a
search through the photo suite or a windows search. I couldn't find them by
going through control panel either. But if I go to "My pictures" from the
start menu there they are. The thing is, I can't move them anywhere. If I
copy and paste the folder shows up but the individual photos won't open. I
get a unable to open message. I've tried working with the pictures from the
"my pictures" just so I could print one. They won't print either. Can
anybody tell me what's happening, and do you have any suggestions for
learning this stuff? Thanks any help appreciated.
 
I take it you've tried this, but..., in My Pictures,
right click on the image, then on "Open with" and your
Photo Suite program should be visible. Click on this and
your image should open in that program.

As for learning this stuff, it inevitably involves
spending more money. " Mastering Digital Photography and
Imaging" by Peter K. Burian is an excellent book (£13)to
get you started, which deals with software issues, file
extensions etc.
