I have installed XP on anew hard drive, and I want to try to move my
OLD w2k partion to the end of the new hard drive. (unused partition).

Will XP's boot system pick up this new operation system, and will it
boot?

Any suggestions?

I assume that you already know how to copy the old drive
to the new partition, including hidden and system files. You
now have to do this:
1. Ensure that the Win2000 partition is a primary partition.
2. Hide the WinXP partition.
3. Make a Win2000 boot diskette.
4. Adjust a:\boot.ini so that it points to partition 2 (assuming
that Win2000 resides on the second partition).
5. Boot the machine with this diskette.
6. If successful, unhide the WinXP partition and add a reference
to c:\boot.ini for to the Win2000 OS.

I will use norton ghost 2003 for recover the ghost image of the win2K.

Once this is done, I can boot to System Comander's CD, and edit the
boot.ini of the W2K points to partition 2.

Step 6, edit XP boot.ini (now c) to include a selection for w2k?

Thanks
OBTW, where in W2K can I make this boot diskette?

- Format a floppy disk under WinXP.
- Copy these hidden files A:\
c:\ntldr
c:\ntdetect.com
c:\boot.ini
- Adjust a:\boot.ini so that it points to partition(2).
