moving a picture

Using Powerpoint 2003, my wife and I are trying to move picture. We inserted
the picture using the insert -> picture -> from file. That was the easy
part. For the life of us we cannot get the picture to move at all or change
any characteristics of it. I've researched this as far as I know how and I
come to you all for help.

I just need to be able to move any picture that we place on the slide.

Thanks in advance for your help and advice,

Rob and Tina

First you need to select the picture. When you place the cursor over the
image, the cursor will turn into cross-hairs. Click on the photo. It will be
selected (see the tiny circles located on the photo corners and half-way
points).

Now you can move the photo at least a couple of ways.
1) use the up, down, side arrow keys (this will move the photo in small
increments)
2) Left click on the photo and hold down the mouse while you drag the photo
to desired location.

Also here is some more editing info:

Is there any chance that you inserted the picture onto one of the slide masters
rather than the slide itself?

Choose View, Master, Slide Master.
Look at each master in the presentation
If you see the picture there, select it, copy it, then close master view.
Go to the slide where you want the picture to appear and paste it there.
Then go back to master view and delete the picture from the master.
