We have just implemented our Exchange server in the last couple weeks.
Now that we have the kinks worked out, we want to begin migrating users to
Exchange Profiles instead of POP3.
We have come up with one issue which we can not resolve.
After setting up the Exchange Profile to use Cached Exchange Mode, we have
found that moving the .ost file to another partition does not work.
Upon starting Outlook we don't get the usual "Unable to find xxxxxx.ost or
xxxxxx.pst" so we don't get to browse for the new location of the .ost file.
Going into the settings for the location of the offline folder file, we see
the location of the file but the browse button is grayed out.
What do we need to do in order to successfully move the .ost file from the
default location to another partition on the system.
We are finding some users have large mailboxes and thus will fill their C
drive quickly.
I read on knowledgebase article which said after moving the file in Outlook
we should get the message about not being able to find the file. But this
does not occur.
We are using Outlook 2003, part of Office 2003 Standard.
