Moving a current Domian Controller to new hardware

In our WIN 2000 child domain, we have 3 DC's, will call them server1, server2 and server3. We want to remove server1 ( because of current hardware, plus OS configurations ) and configure it on new hardware, with the same server name "server1". Is this possible and if so please point me to the microsoft procedures. Thank you
