Moving a column in Outlook 2003

I am attempting to move the "flag" column in Outlook 2003 from the far right
to the left side of Outlook. The instructions say to drag the icon, but that
does not work for me. I cannot get the flag icon to move.

Can anyone help?

Yep. It appears they don't like to let you drag the "Flag Status" column elsewhere. But there's a
way to trick them. Right-click the column header and choose "Customize Current view". Push the
"Fields" button, and you'll see a list of the fields displayed. You can then move the "Flag Status"
field to a new position.

Thank you for that quick response, Scott. I did go to customer view and
found where I can move the fields up or down. I moved the flag status field
up just after the attachment icon... but after I save the settings, it does
not move the flags!

Once upon a time I did figure this out... then I had re-load Outlook to be
able to sync with my new XV6700... and now I need to reconfigure it again.

Any other tricks?

Hi again,

I figured it out. I DELETED the flag status column that was on the right.
THEN when I customized the fields and added the flagg status back in, moved
it up to after the attachment icon, it worked!

Thanks for helping me brainstorm!

Huh! It worked for me! In fact, I liked your idea, and I moved the flag to the left. I have right
after the attachment icon at this moment. One thing that I did, that I didn't mention, is that I
removed the column altogether first. I then added it back and moved it. Maybe that's part of the
trick?

Thanks Scott. I am so relieved to find the solution. I like flagging
messages I want to remember and I don't notice the flag to the far right.

Guess great minds really think alike! :)
