Movies quality

I noticed that video clips picture quality is not excellent, expecially in full screen view. Why an high end digital camera like mine does produce a so low quality PC video? I download with firewire and use Windows Movie Maker.

and if you are, what are you viewing? The end movie on a dvd/vcd/vhs
tape/minidv tape/a movie on the pc or in the preview screen of movie maker,
which is set to show a "preview" and is not the quality of the end result.
