Moviemaker Saving

Moviemaker stops saving when the file it is saving gets to be 288,644K in
size, and I get the "cannot save to this location" message. 288,644K is the
size of the (unredadable) .wmv file fragment that it saves before hanging.
So I infer that MM thinks there is only that much storage available. There
is actually over 100gig avaiable on the disc.

Any help with a fix? I tried all the usual ones the you find out there
already.
