Moviemaker closes

Um.. does that matter you can call me Skippy

Everytime I try to use an effect my moviemaker closes.
I've heard most people have this problem. I've just
gotten my mmoviemaker and i haven't been able to do
anything and i can't return to 1.1. Please Help!!!!!
