MovieMaker and VOB Files?

I did a searchon Google and the consensus was that if I rename a VOB (froma
DVD) to mpg I would be able to import it into Moviemaker.
I tried that, but when Iplay the file in moviemaker, I don't see a picture,
just audio.
Is there a conversion I have to do?
