Hey dhealing :)

i've just been looking at this program and its terms and conditions, On the
site it shows you must use regedit to locate the GUID then enter that onto
Movielands site to remove the notification pop ups, The only problem with
that is the page where you enter the GUID looks abit fake, no matter what you
enter in the GUID box it will display 'Account Cancelled' even if you leave
the GUID field blank plus it still leaves files and reg entries on the system
even after using the add/remove screen and entering the GUID number which
makes it look like its not genuine and requires manual removal.

Even asking the user to look through the registry and find the GUID isnt
required as the install leaves a html file in the Program Files area which
contains the GUID number. If people have given them credit card information
and want to remove it then its probably wise to save this GUID number and
contact them to make sure they don't keep charging for the service but if you
have downloaded the free trial without giving any information then just
remove all its files and folders to stop the pop ups.

To find the GUID number if needed open this html file :

C:\Program Files\MovieLand Terms.html

If that cannot be found goto start menu > run > and copy and paste this:

regedit /e c:\find.txt "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\DownloadManager\Prefs"

Press OK and this will export the GUID number from the registry and save it
to c:\drive as 'find.txt'

REMOVAL
-----------

First run the uninstallers, Goto Add/Remove screen (Start Menu > Control
Panel > Add/Remove Programs) and remove these :

MediaPipe
Notification Utility
p2pnetworks

You can also run the uninstallers using the run box (Start Menu > Run) by
copy and pasting these lines one at a time and pressing OK after each

"C:\Program Files\MediaPipe\uninst.exe"

"C:\Program Files\ItBill\itbill.exe" /Uninstall

"C:\Program Files\p2pnetworks\uninst.exe"

After they are removed open task manager (Right click the system tray and
choose Task Manager or press Control, Alt & Delete together) . Goto the
processes tab, press 'Image Name' to sort them into alphabetical order then
check for these files:

altpayV2.exe
DownloadManager.exe
itbill.exe
MPTray.exe
p2pnetworks.exe

If any are found, left click each and press the 'End Process' button then
Yes to confirm.

Next check that the start up entry has been removed. Open Microsoft
Antispyware goto Advanced Tools > then System Explorers > click Startup
Programs

check for these entries:

mpp2pl.exe = C:\Program Files\p2pnetworks\mpp2pl.exe
Notifier = C:\Program Files\itbill\itbill.exe
Notifier = C:\Program Files\altpayV2\altpayV2.exe

If found left click each and from the menu on the right choose 'Permanently
Remove Startup Program' and Yes at the confirmation pop up.

For Hijack This users the entries would show like this:

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [MediaPipe P2P Loader] "C:\Program
Files\p2pnetworks\mpp2pl.exe" /H
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [Notification Utility] "C:\Program Files\ItBill\itbill.exe"
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [Notification Utility] "C:\Program
Files\altpayV2\altpayV2.exe"

If found place checks next to them in Hijack This and press the 'Fix
Checked' button.

Next Remove the Files and Folders :

C:\Program Files\MovieLand Terms.html <--Delete this file

C:\Program Files\p2pnetworks <--Delete this folder

C:\Program Files\MediaPipe <--Delete this folder

C:\Program Files\ItBill <--Delete this folder

C:\Program Files\altpayV2 <--Delete this folder

c:\My AccessMedia <--Delete this folder

Finally remove the registry keys, If your confident using Regedit then
remove both of these keys :

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\DownloadManager]
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\MediaPipe]

If your not confident with editing the registry then open notepad (Start
Menu > Run > type notepad and press ok) then copy and paste this into it
making REGEDIT4 the top line in notepad.

REGEDIT4

[-HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\DownloadManager]

[-HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\MediaPipe]

Goto 'File' on the top bar of Notepad and choose Save As, on the Save As
Type area change it to 'All Files' then name it fix.reg and save it to your
desktop, double click fix.reg and allow it to be merged into the registry
which will remove both entries.

Let us know if you have any problems

New Movieland / Media Pipe Variant

Movieland and their mediapipe software just don't seem to be going away. Another new variant of the mediapipe software is now out there and many of the removal articles on the web do not take care of it. Here is a free removal tutorial that was updated two days ago:

http://www.schrockinnovations.com/removemoviepass.php

Now that you have what you need to remove it, we can share some background with you on how you got infected and what it means.

You installed the Mediapipe software from Movieland - knowingly or unknowingly - when you clicked on an advertisement on a web page. Once the software is installed on your PC, you have a 30 day trial to use their services. If you do not cancel your subscription - yes you have a subscription (read the fine print next time!) - you will be auto billed for a month of service.

If you refuse to pay, the pop ups will become more and more persistent until they are simply constant. If you refuse to pay your monthly membership fees, Movieland reserves the right to bill you for an entire year of service ($388 USD or more).

If you don't pay that, they reserve the right to send you to collections and that could hurt your credit.

With that out of the way... You MUST cancel your account with them FIRST by CALLING THEIR TOLL FREE NUMBER before you get this stuff off your computer. Failure to cancel first could result in a collection phone call or two. when you call, DO NOT give them any additional personal information. If they don't know who you are they can't send you a bill, so why would you tell them who you are?

With that said, good luck and avoid any advertisement that offers free videos or movies. They are NEVER free and they are ALWAYS trouble.
