Is there a way to transfer an edited 8mm movie made from Microsoft Movie Maker to directly to DVD?
 
No, you'll need third party software.

Hi There,

Well no, because Movie Maker does not make 8mm movies.

You can import a movie into Movie Maker 2, edit it and then use File >
Save Movie As and create a DV-AVI file which can then be used in some third
party DVD authoring package, which will take the DV-AVI file and create a
DVD layout and DVD disk for you.
