Hi, excuse my english.

We are doing RIGHT NOW a class on how to use Movie maker (the basics). We
have 21 pcs on the laboratory, and none projects the movie good. It opens on
WMedia Player but the colors are like negative colors (pink, blue and lime
green), it looks awful, we cant even see what the objects are. If you go open
the movie right from WMM, the only way to do it is Import file... It doenst
even show up in Open.

Why is that? A student has a laptop on the classroom and in her computer the
movie looks GREAT. I compared the versions and both are the same: WMP v. 9
and WMM version 2.1.4

What can the 21 other computer have wrong? The lab is only 2 months old, so
the pcs are practically new.

Please help us.

Could be an issue with your video driver. Just
because a computer is relatively new is no
guarantee that the drivers are the most current.

Try reducing your Graphics Hardware Acceleration
as per the instructions in the following article
and if an improvement is realized you need to
update/reinstall your video driver. After the test...
you can return your acceleration to Full.

(263391) How to Change the Graphics
Hardware Acceleration Setting in Windows

Search the support website of your video
adapter's manufacturer for an updated driver
and instructions on how to install it.

Just for info....Movie Maker has two basic
save options...one is the "Project File"...
created by going to...File / Save Project As...
this creates a .mswmm file. This file does not
include the soutrce files so be sure the source
files remain available in their original locations
if the project will be re-edited.

To re-open a .mswmm file...just open the
folder it is saved in and left click it.

Saving a "Movie File" is done by going to...
File / Save Movie File or typing...Ctrl+P. The
steps to save are as follows:

To save as a .wmv movie file...
Type...Ctrl+P to open the Save Movie Wizard /
Choose...My Computer /
Next /
Enter a Name and a Save Location /
Next / Next.
Wait while the movie is saved /
Finish...

To save as an .avi movie file...
Type...Ctrl+P to open the Save Movie Wizard /
Choose...My Computer /
Next /
Enter a Name and a Save Location /
Next /
Show More Choices /
Other Settings /
Open the drop window and choose...DV-AVI /
Next /
Wait while the movie is saved /
Finish...

To re-open a Movie File....Open Movie Maker
and go to...File / Import Into Collections.
