I have heard good things about MM2 but am a little
confused about what its limitations are.
Can I create a movie project in MM2 and use another
program to author and create a DVD?

Which burning program can be used with the video files
produced by MM2?

Any insight into MM2 its strengths and weaknesses greatly
appreciated!

Yes, you can save movies from Movie Maker, and then use other software to
author and burn DVDs. Movie Maker doesn't burn standard CDs or DVDs
directly.

See the DVD Software section of www.papajohn.org

Strengths - wonderful interface with real-time previewing. Weaknesses - some
people have startup and/or maintenance issues.

WMM2 actually does make a "standard" CD (i.e., almost any computer can read
the HighMAT files/directories), but that CD isn't a VCD which can be played
back in a stand-alone DVD player. Just to be clear, WMM2 does not allow you
to burn a CD (or DVD) that can be played back on a currently available
stand-alone DVD player.

Almost any _Windows_ computer (that's less than 5 years old).

Yes, you can save the finished video as a DV-AVI and use a third party
software like Roxio 6 to re-encode to DVD format and burn the DVD.

MM2 is probably not the greatest editing program ever produced but it's
free! Adobe Premiere (www.adobe.com) would probably claim the title as the
best 'amateur' program, but it's $699 per copy.... so you get what you pay
for!

MM2 is free, easy to use and does the job!

"Free" is not entirely accurate: it is included (at no additional cost) as
part of Windows XP, which is definately not free.

I just bought a new computer 5 weeks ago.. new to MM1 &
MM2. Loving every moment of it! So far i have encountered
no weaknesses, nor have I experienced any freezing or
lapses. I have not tried to burn all i have saved onto
dvd yet, but i thank you for your question. I'll be
following your question for the reply.
Thanks C.M.
