Hi,

i have a video clip in MPEG2 format, it has to remain in this format.

but it is actually a program i recorded using my PCTV tuner and i want to edit out the adverts (CH 5) so i go to movie maker and hit import movie, it then tells me:

C:\Docs...\Composite-2004-09-22_20-34-20h.mpg could not be imported. An interface has too many methods to fire events from

What does this mean, i need to get rid of the adverts!

i do not want to convert the movie file, because it will lost quality and i want to put it on a DVD!

KGB

I have been trying to post this for 4 days, it would not work...

KGB sorry matey I've just put XP on this system today and i havent used Movie Maker yet...

Did the error message actually state "An interface has too many methods to fire events from"? again i have now idea what this means but it does sound an odd message

Sorry matey I'll have another scout about

Thank you very much spooks,

Just a question, as you have only just installed XP, did you do a search for this, ask someone or what? because i did a load of google searches, and came up with nothing!

It now lets me import the file, but it will only import the sound (audio), not the video, do you know why that could be?

the sound works fine, but no picture!!!

Any suggestions?

Thanks again Spooks,

No probs KGB.. :) I just did a search.. it must be because i used a desktop!..lol ....no seriously i just used google but.... i typed in the whole error line "An interface has too many methods to fire events from".. some links looked promising but one site wanted me to pay to see the answer.. lol the damned cheek!

Is it only sound you can get with the NEW Codec?

I haven't used Movie Maker yet is it good?

It is very good - if it works!

i don't think it is a problem with the CODEC, this too is a known problem with movie maker.

At least we are getting on the right lines... (i now have sound - next step: video!)

Thanks again,

KGB

(Laptop's are much better than desktops!)

Cheers, I have looked through the page and i came up with one link to a program that will work, the only problem is; on that page i saw "1 year Licensing: $2,500" that put me off somewhat...

Why do you not like laptops?... Did one hurt you... Or your wallet?

lol....

was about to say - try a diff program !

i never use move maker ! - is there any point in getting rid of it ? - has any1 already deleted it ? and if so how do you do it?

I don't know, also is it possible to remove windows media player, because see my post "media player (9/10)" it is screwing up my computer!

How?

Ignor that, i have done it!

i dont know wheter it will work with move maker: Start > Control Pannel > Add / remove programs > add / remive windows components > *un check the ones you don't want* > next > finnish - all gone!

Like i say, i dont know whether you can do it wil MM!
