Hello,
To answer your question...
Windows 98 implies a slow computer by today's standard. You can download a
version of Windows Media Player that supports the version 9 format file you
have created, BUT if the file has a high bit rate (when thinking of a windows
98 machine) it will probably play quite badly, So....
Make two files, the one you are best pleased with and a lower bit rate as a
"just in case". People will happily watch a smaller video that plays smoothly
instead of a larger video that is forever skipping frames or freezing at
various places. So whether or not your "best pleased with version" is AVI or
not you should make your second one "Video for LAN 1Mb/s" perhaps...that should
give you a nice 640 x 480 pixel video that will play quite well even on a Win98
machine.
Don't forget....you MUST upgrade their machine so that it can play version
windows media.
