I have been using Movie Maker for awhile and love it. Have just spent a
little time playing around with Photo Story. Can someone do a
compare-and-contrast between the two for me? I cannot seem to see much
difference between them at this point.

Check the Photo Story 3 > Intro page of my website.

Up to a couple weeks ago, I'd say that Photo Story 3 wins easily in the
pan/zoom area when using high quality still pix as sources.... but with the
new Pixelan SpiceFX 4.0 Wizard you can do better now with Movie Maker. See
my 'What's New' entries for May 28th and June 8th.

I appreciate the information here and on your web site. I was thrilled
with the pan/zoom options that came with our XP Media Edition system, and I
understand there are even more available for free download.

Those extra pan/zooms don't retain the quality of still pix on a par with
the Pixelan Wizard or Photo Story.

Okay. I'll use Photo Story for my next project and see how the final
products compare.

One more question. In MM, I like the fact that I can split an audio track
so that the audio from an inserted video clip is not overwhelmed by the
audio track that plays during the still photo portions. I assume that same
option is available in Photo Story??

What I do is make the visual part of the story in Photo Story 3, then use a
draft of it in Movie Maker, where you can easier and better mix the audio
track, then save the audio from Movie Maker as a single WMA file to use as
the background music in PS3.

Just realized that I don't see a way to import video clips into Photo Story.
Am I missing that option?
