I've been using Movie Maker in XP Pro. I got to play with it in Vista
Ultimate and noticed that I could burn the movie straight to DVD, which I
can't in my XP version.

So, how do I get the Vista Version and install onto my XP Pro system?

How do I tell which version is which?

Thank you :-)

Not an option.

Open Movie Maker and go do...Help /
About ...to see the version.

Thank you. I'm running version 5.1. How do I gain the ability to burn my
movie directly to a DVD viewable on any DVD player from Movie Maker (other
than buying Vista Ultimate)?

Right now what I do is save my movie to a WMV then use DVD Flick to burn it
to DVD. Is this the best option?

Well actually...5.1 is your Windows Version...
your Movie Maker version would be 2.1.

Not from Movie Maker in XP unless you
have Windows XP Media Center Edition.

Movie Maker 2 and DVD Burning Software -
Media Center Edition 2005

Using DVD Authoring software is the answer.

That's a good option but if you want a more
advanced program...there are several...Nero,
Roxio, Ulead, WinDVD, etc.....

You're actually running WMM 2.1..........5.1 is your Windows XP OS version.

It's about your only option if you don't have Windows XP Media Version.

Although there are other authoring applications that will create and burn as
DVD Flick does.
