Movie Maker unexpectedly quits seconds after start up

EVERY time I open Movie maker within 5 seconds it encounters a problem and
needs to be closed. I have all the latest Microsoft updates which have not
helped. I only opened the program once before, months ago, and it worked
fine. But now it doesnt and it is very hard for me to determine exactly what
happened in the mean time to break it.

Below is the error I receive:

AppName: moviemk.exe AppVer: 2.0.3312.0 ModName: qedit.dll
ModVer: 6.5.2600.2180 Offset: 0001b2af

Any advice on how I can get this to work?

I tried renaming the Intervideo folder as something else and it still is not
working. I recently installed a PCMCIA TV Tuner card so I could pull video
in from a camcorder and VCR into my computer to use movie maker with. Is
there any known conflict with that. I am really in a lurch here so any other
advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
