Movie Maker-titles and transitions

I can't get rid of a title on my first two slides...I want to make the last
slide stay on the screen for a while...how do I stretch it out. This is my
very first movie but I am determined to learn.

You can remove the unwanted titles with a right
click/delete from the "Title Overlay" track on your
timeline.

If you place your pointer on the edge of the clip
in the timeline, you'll see a double red arrow.
Left click / dragging this arrow will adjust the
duration of the clip. While dragging...you should
see a tooltip that displays the current duration.
