I have developed a problem with moviemaker 2 which I am
unable to resolve. I have successfully captured and
rendered many movies in the past. However, suddenly I'm
finding that when I have finished editing the movie and
am ready to save it to my hard drive, I get an error
telling me that "The movie cannot be saved either because
there's not enough room on the hard drive or because
there is a problem with the source files".There is no
problem with my hard drive, and whether the source is my
VCR or my Web cam, analog camera, seems to make no
difference. I have tried even recording a few seconds
with my Web cam and get the same response.
A reply directly to me at my e-mail address would
sincerely be appreciated
love,
Jules

Even a one second movie [from web-cam or vcr, results in
the same error message.
Where can I download the "encoder package"?
Why would this 'suddenly ' occur when it worked well
before the latest windows updates?
regards,
Jules
PS I have 1Gigabyte of RAM and a Pentium 4 processor.
Is there any value in closing all other programs in task
manager?

A search for QASF.DLL comes up with no response!!
However, I found version 6.5[December 2002} in the system
folder. i have tried re-install of movie-maker 2 twice to
no avail. I now need to find "Windows Media encoder"?
Could i try copying the DLL from a friends computer and
pasting it into the system folder? Should i perhaps try
and delete the present [incorrect] DLL?
HELP an old man here!!
Jules

I found media encoder and will let you know what happens
next.
Thanks
Jules
