Hi All --
Thanks for posting the bucket number!
Here's the information I've been providing WRT bucket number 127394354 --
MOST of the hits on this issue looks like a case of 3rd party dshow
issues.
From the callstack, it looks like the problem resides in qedit.dll;
something is dying when dshow goes to enumerate the transitions/effects
installed on your PC.
Dshow transitions and effects can be installed/redistributed just like
codecs --
For example, MM ships a variety of trans/effects, and has at least two
"add-on" packs that add trans/effects to your PC. Other software
manufacturers also release Dshow trans/effects in their video editing
software. While a given software program may not expose them (MM doesn't
show any trans/effects that aren't explicitly authored for MM), Dshow
will
still try to enumerate all the existing ones
Perhaps removing some effects and transitions would help? Nearly all the
reports of this issue have one of the following installed; Uninstalling
some/all might resolve the problem, or at least provide a temporary
workaround:
1. Intervideo WinDVD Creator 2 Trial Download (This installs ivitrans.dll
and
chinaeffects.dll)
2. Filters redist pack (This installs Internet explorer filters
(DXTMSFT.dll) and MetaCreation filters (DXMeta2.dll).
3. FXLibrary (This installs FXLibrary.dll)
4. Any MM2.0 Add-on pack (Either the "Winter fun Pack" or "SpiceFX"
varieties.)
5. Plus! Digital Media Edition 1.1 (This installs Plus!_TransFX.dll)
If uninstalling/removing any particular one of these resolves the issue,
I'd
love to know for future reference.
Thanks!

Sorry, you actually have to double click on the red error event that
you
are seeing in the right side window pane and it will pop open more
details
which is where the fault bucket info lives.

Ok, I've been all over control panel. Theres nothing on my computer
that
says
bucket fault code. The best I can offer is under type, it says error
in
red,
and under source it says, application error, under category it says
none.
under event it says 1000 & 1001.

:
Yes, under control panel, you need to send the error report in to
Microsoft
first, then start at the top of the application errors in event
viewer
and
step down through the errors you should see a fault bucket# in the
lower
description section within the first couple errors. If not in
applications
try the system area in the left pane.

Did you mean adm. tools in control panel? I looked under event
viewer
and
appl.
all I see is event # 1001 no fault bucket
:
Can you send the report and post the fault bucket number. After
you
send
in
the report go to administrative tools | Event viewer. Look
under
Application and there should be Errors listed the first one, or
the
2nd
one
will contain a Fault bucket number.

When I start movie maker, a window pops up saying that movie
maker
has
encountered a problem and must shut down. I can choose to send
error
report
or close window. Regardless of the choice, movie maker
immediately
shuts
down. I downloaded service pack 2 hoping this would fix the
problem,
but
to
no avail. Anyone else experienced this problem? If so, what is
the
solution?
