Not knowning your system....I would start looking at the
basics. Video takes up a huge amount of resources, hard
drive space, RAM, Cache everything! I would look at your
system and see if your system is up to the task. Any one
of those areas could cause the problems you have listed.

I'm having two problems with MS movie maker (running XP
profesional) and hope someone can help:
1. I have edited a project down to 12 clips, each of
which individually plays just fine. When attempting to
play the whole storyboard, everything goes black at the
start of the third clip. After saving the movie, the
same thing happens. Plays fine for about two minutes,
then goes completely black. Why does this happen, and is
there any way to fix it?
2. On a different project, the video edits ok, but upon
trying to save the movie, for some reason MM is convinced
that this must be saved as an audio file rather than a
video file (the video plays without problem). How can I
get it to save the video feed into a movie (I don't even
want any audio, and don't think any audio was recorded -
the whole file was recorded off a direct video feed from
a digital camera)?
Sorry if these are ignorant questions, but I'd be
grateful for any help. Please post here or email to
(e-mail address removed)

Thanks for the comment, I should have mentioned that several other much larger video files have been edited, saved, and played on this system without any problems. It seems to be specific to these clips. System resources are ample. Any other ideas
