I'm have a movie that I captured from a vcr. I'd like to put that movie on
DVD with a menu. My question is, how do I do this? Do I create clips for
the different sections I want in the menu and then set up the menu in Nero or
is it different?

Thanks.

No you don't need to create separate clips.
You can import the entire video into Nero Vision Express and create chapter
points manually from within the program. The chapter points will then be
displayed on the menu.

I picked up Nero Ultra 7. It's a demo version, but I paid for a key that I
can download. The problem that I'm having now is that when I create the
chapters, sometimes the icons on the left side where all of the chapters are,
don't match the starting point of the chapter (the picture on chapter 3 on
the right side is actually the beginning of chapter 2 or another chapter).
Am I doing something wrong? Does it make a difference that this was
originally a demo?

Thanks.

Shouldn't make a difference that it was a demo.
I can't remember for certain with Nero but I know with the Ulead programs
you can set the starting frame manually for the chapter point. Take a look
at the options, maybe right clicking on the thumbnail, to see about manually
setting the starting frame.

I'm having the same problem whether I set the chapters manually or I let Nero
auto-detect chapters. I'm currently trying Roxio to see how that is. Nero
is much easier to use, but I want it to come out right.

I wasn't talking about setting the chapter points, I always do that
manually, but once they are set you can select which frame to start with in
the thumbnail view. You can do this with Ulead regardless of whether you
autocreate or manually create the chapter points.
I personally do not like Roxio at all. I would recommend downloading the
trial of either Ulead Movie Factory or Ulead DVD Workshop2. Links on my
website.
