Movie Maker monitor

I'm trying to view an .mpg file in Movie Maker. I can
hear the audio but the screen is black. I can see both
audio and video if I double click on the file name in
Collections. However in that mode when I click on any of
the controls on the monitor the video and audio goes away.

Movie Maker doesn't work well with MPEG2 files. It's best to convert them
something like an AVI file before using them in MM2.

Hello there,

Yours is a common problem. Movie Maker in descending order of significance has
trouble with MPeg, MP3 and JPeg media. The solution is to convert it to AVI,
WAV and BMP respectively.

In the Great LInks section of my website click on IMAGING > KNOWLEDGE BASE >
VIDEO HELP. There you will find the best source of info I have ever come across
on converting media.
