Whenever I try to add a sound file to my Movie Maker document that dialogue
box appears that says...
'Windows Movie Maker has encountered a problem and needs to close, we are
sorry fot the inconveinence'

I've added sound to a file with no problem just yesterday, however right
after I saved it Windows Shut down (My computer crashed) Now I can't even do
anything with sound in a movie maker file without having to close it every
time. I am not allowed to uninstall anything so is there any quick ways to
fix this?

I have Windows XP Professional version 5.1 (build
2600.xpsp_sp2_gdr.070227-2254 : Service Pack 2) With 523,056 KB availible to
Windows.

Is there any easy way to fix this?

==================================
Try doing a System Restore in Safe Mode
to a time before the issue began.

Format compatibility was probably the cause
of the issues...

Many formats are reportedly compatible with
Movie Maker but the most reliable choices are:

Photos - bmp
Video - wmv or dv-avi
Music - wma, wav, .wmv

If you need a converter...the following freeware
may be worth a try:

(FWIW...it's always a good idea to create a System
Restore point before installing software or updates)

Format Factory
http://www.pcfreetime.com/
(FWIW...you may want to uncheck
all the boxes on the final screen)

After downloading and installing Format Factory...
open the program and choose an Output Folder...
(this is where you will find your files after they are
converted)

Drag/drop your audio/video clips onto the
main screen...

Select 'All to ???' / OK...
(the ??? represents your choice of format)

Click...Start...on the toolbar...

That should do it...
