I have been trying to open my movie maker. I keep getting an error
"encountered a problem" I have the option to "debug" which seems to do
absolutely nothing, and send a report, which sends me to update for windows
and again no help there.
Under the error report I get the following, which again is no help to me....
AppName: moviemk.exe
ModVer.6.5.2600.2180
AppVer.2.0.3312.0
Mod Name: qedit.dll
offset 0001b2cf

I need help please. This program came with my computer. I read that maybe
because I updated to IE 7, this may have begun my problems. I considered
removing IE 7 and going back to IE 6, however my computer tells me that there
are programs that may not run if I choose to remove the newer version.

Is there any hope?

Since you are running Movie Maker 2.0...
there must be a problem with WinXP SP2.
(it's supposed to include Movie Maker 2.1)

Maybe the following article will be useful:

What can I do if I upgrade to Windows
XP SP2 and Windows Movie Maker 2.1
is not installed successfully?

If you decide to try uninstalling IE 7...and
if issues arise with your software...you can
download and reinstall IE7 from the following
