movie maker DVD

CAn anyone help me. I have recently been given a digital video camera. I have
shot family video and used movie maker to edit it, then saved to RW DVD but
have not been able to play it back on DVD player. I want to make copies and
send ot family so they can play it. Any suggestions, will movie maker edit
and record DVD's which play on DVD player?

Did you burn the DVD directly from Movie Maker
or did you save the project as a movie (.wmv or .avi)
and burn your DVD with your authoring software?
