If it's a DVD drive you have, with a DVD disk in it, Windows will not be
able to do what you want, you'll need a third party software to make a DVD.

Save the finished project to the hard drive, then use the third party
software to burn the DVD.

I too have had this problem. My burner works fine in
every other program. Computer's under warrantee- Dell
refused to help me without charging and same for
Microsoft. I've tried burning movie with other programs
but it doesn't work.

Please let me know if you happen to figure out what the
issue is. (e-mail address removed)

Hello There,

Movie Maker is not too bright if the burner is a dvd burner.....in particular
if the disk inserted is a DVD disk then it will definitely not work

You can check whether the allow burning option is set in the properties for the
drive...Movie Maker is very pedantic about such things. Click on My Computer >
Manage > Device Manager > CD-ROM Drives and then double click the cd-rom
