Movie Maker Disappears....

Installed the latest Widnows Movie Maker on Sep 18th -
Using winXP Home Edition. PC 2.53 Intel Pentium 4, 512mb
memory, 80g hd, NVIDIA GeForce4 MX420 graphics card.

PROBLEM: When I attempt to add a video effect or video
transition - the entire Movie Maker program just
disappears!!

Reinstallation of Movie Maker does not correct problem.

Unable to locate technical assistance at Microsoft.com

Any suggestions would be most welcomed....
