I have a Dell Computer.

It came with the Dell Movie maker software and hardware. (Roxi VideoWave
Movie Creator 1.6.636.0)

I have connected an IEEE1394 Fire Wire to capture video with my Cannon ELURA
60 video camera.

When I try to capture video in move maker I am given two chooses: Cannon DV
Device and Dell Movie Maker Device. When I try to use the Cannon DV Device
(i.e. Fire wire) my clicking on I get automatically the following error
message.
"A problem was encountered while trying to connect to one of our capture
devices check your capture device and then try again.

I can capture the video using the Roxi VideoWave but I would rather us Movie
Maker.

In an effort to try to solve this problem I have reloaded Movie Maker 2.
What should I do to fix the problem?

What format do you wish to capture in? If DV-AVI I am actually not sure
why you wish to capture using MM2.
I use WINDV a freeware product that is very lightweight and also saves
the scenes as separate files - this gives significant advantages when
you want to leave a tape running unattended, but actually only want a
portion of it.
While I know this is not using MM2, I actually found this superior. In
fact I moved to WINDV from MM2.
Note I do use mainly MM2 for my movie editing.....just not capturing.
