Hi... I have been making movies w/WMM for a while, and my "collections' are
getting numerous. Where do I go and how do I delete these collections? I no
longer need them.
Thanks!

After months and months... I finally figured out how to do this myself! I
didn't realize that I could open up a listing of the collections in the left
window... but after doing so I can delete delete delete!

Yes you can!
But so you know all that does is delete the "collections" in Movie Maker.
The actual audio/video/still files are still on your hard drive.

Thanks, Wojo! I was going on the idea that the "collections" were some sort
of copies that wmm makes as a 'window' to view the files in the collection. I
could never find any files in windows explorer associated with 'collections'
or even wmm. Good to pass on this information tho, and to remember always
...better to be safe than sorry! I burn all my graphics to cd and dvd JUST
in case!

That's a good practice. I do that as well as saving the original DV tapes.
As far as the clips on your computer you won't find a reference to
"collections" or "WMM" but you will find the clips themselves probably in
"My Documents/My Videos"
The "collections" foilders simply contain pointers that tell WMM where the
clips can be found so deleting them does nothing to the actual clips.

You only need to worry about your SAVE FOLDER..COLLECTIONS is a PALLET to
work from..Click and DELETE each TITLE..purchase a External HDD..and store
the really important stuff there..When useing MPEG-2 on a DVD(you have a FILE
of sorts)..or you can CONVERT to a WMV(NTFS)Large Frame for storage on CD or
DVD Disk(files)..but then your stuck w/WMV..I SAVE important FILES as DV-avi
on my 120-GB External HDD..until all my DVD-movies have gone out to my
friends and family..I then decide from there...WMV..or DELETE it....since I
always have the DVD-movie(mpeg-2)..which can be re-captured in a
ANALOG-device I have and re-edited in Digital...My ROXIO software seems to
expand the Picture-size on the TV screen if I use the COPY Feature(so)some
lettering might go edgy on the TV.

Any chance you could be more specific? I have looked in a couple of
locations (like the default directory for "temporary storage") but can't
find any files that are the four or five gigs of video that I know I
captured. Is there a special place that this video is stored?

Thanks,

Paul

When you capture you are given the option to choose where to save the video.
I believe it will default to "My Documents/My Videos" if you haven't changed
it but I don't remember for certain.
