Movie Maker cannot open saved WMV or Project file!

I made several Movie Maker Project files and saved them on a hard drive in a
folder that I encrypted for security. Since that time, I had to restore this
PC and when I saved the folder to the hard drive and transfered the hard
drive to another computer as a slave drive, I can no longer access the saved
files with Movie Maker. How can I access this folder and files in the folder
without knowing the password and/or the information I used when the folder
and files were created? If this can be done, will Movie Maker be able to read
and open these files?

Sorry I had to do this as a reply, but for some reason my computer will not
let me post a new message. I started using movie maker today and did fine
until it was time to add the music. I have legally downloaded the files and
also tried from a CD and nada. I keep getting this message from files that I
downloaded from 3 different sites: "wma is protected using digital rights
management and cannot be imported". Can someone please tell me what that
means? I have searched the internet for hours, paid microsoft $35 for a tech
call and still NOTHING!!! Please help!

The music that you purchased has DRM (Digital Rights Management).
Apparently, when you signed up and paid for the music, you did not read what
you are allowed to do with the music. DRM restricts the copying of the
music to other than the drive you downloaded it to. It is not something
that Microsoft can do anything about.

In the future, when signing up for anything on the internet, take the time
to read the agreement that you are signing on to...

In short, you paid to download the music to your hard drive, but it cannot
be copied. It was in the agreement that you agreed to when you signed up.

Seems like Windows XP Home Edition can't even load the GPEdit to try and
recover my encrypted files! BTW.......can anyone reply to my post, or did
this string get off on the wrong lane here? My files have nothing to do with
Audio or downloaded msic videos!
