Successfully made a movie with photos/music. Scanned
photos into PhotoShop and added text. After downloading
photos/text, added music. Concerns are:
1. Edges of text are not sharp--is there a specific font
perhaps that works well? Text AND photos tend to flicker
or fade--is this due to the fact that movie is running or
can it be avoided?
2. Photos are 4 x 6". When I click on full screen on the
computer, everything fuzzy. Am I limited to a 4 x 6 image?
3. Had hoped to play CD on our new Sony TV but it seems to
be incompatible. Is there a solution?

Hi Grace,

If you're coming from Photoshop to movies, the number of pixels you are
using in a movie frame will be much fewer than you might be used to seeing
in Photoshop. So it may be a matter of getting calibrated.

Text edges in WMV are not sharp when saved to DV-AVI format, when viewed on
a computer. They may look better on TV. Depending on the content of your
videos, saving in WMV format might be better than saving as DV-AVI. Large
sized text works better than small.

On full screen - if you are previewing the movie in MM2, it's 320x240. If
it's the saved movie, it's whatever quality you selected. But even DVD
quality is only about 640x480 pixels. You are limited to a 4:3 normal aspect
ratio or a 16:9 widescreen one. Beyond those, you are into custom profiles.

The CD saved directly by Movie Maker burns WMV files to the discs, and
current DVD players can't play such files. To burn standard VCDs or SVCDs,
you need to use other software. See the CD Burning section of my website for
choices and comments about them.
