Movie maker 5.1

I have a problem with Movie maker.

About the 3rd or 4th step where it ask for playback mode (Best playback)
No matter what I click I get this error message: "movie maker has encounted
a problem
and must close". Then it just shuts down.

I downloaded and upgraded all my windows components today. No help.

I am running XP media center edition.

Need help badly...
