I've downloaded MM2 (have been working on a birthday
present for my Mother in MM1) to see what improvements are
available. I have it but I cannot install it, it acts
like it's installed but it never really finishes but it
doesn't give me any error messages either! Any ideas?
I've tried so many times I'm just about to give up!
Please help!

Im having the same problem. It seems its installed but i
dont see any changes. Go into MM and click Help and then
About Movie Maker..... and then read the Version. Mine
says Version 2.0.3312.0. Still, i see no difference.

I have the same problem as well. If your version stills says 1.1.2427.1, then you have what I have. What happens is, MM2 does install, but what happens is the 1.1 dll files and the .exe file automatically restore itself, within a matter of seconds, to its 1.1 version. I have no idea why this happens. It does install the proper .dll files for 2.2 and the proper .exe file to run the new 2.0, but some sort of recovery program must revert MM2 back to version 1.1. I still have not figured out how to fix this, hopefully if someone else reads this they can post some kind of help. I have the program installed on my PC, but it will not work on my Laptop. Check your version and see if it says 2.0.

MM2 has a timeline which shows an area for video, transitions, audio, audio/music, and title overlay. Just so you can see the difference. Also, if yours does say 2.0, try installing the new Windows Media Player 9.0, that might make a difference. I hope any of this information helps, post a reply if anything or nothing happens.

Have you tried the suggestion within this KB article.
