Movie Maker 2 MPG files

I have been trying to import an MPG file into Movie Maker 2(MM2) and it will
either import the audio or the video but never both. What am I doing wrong?
Another thing that is weird is that I can play it on Media player fine until
I try to import it. Once I try then I loose the audio and have to log off
and log on. I was thinking that may be MM2 is corrupt but I have no way to
uninstall and reinstall. How can I try that?

Justin,

Playback/importing of MPEG2 content is completely dependant on the third
party MPEG2 decoder installed on your computer. Most do not work well. See
the Importing Source Files... Video... MPEG2 page of www.papajohn.org
