Movie Maker 2.0 does not install

As simple as that, my update for version 2.0 will not install. When I first tried to install it, an error appeared informing me that this update could not recongnize or was not compatible with the logo (something along those lines). Then, after clicking Ok, the application (mm20enu.exe) finished installing and said that Movie Maker 2.0 was successfully installed, but no matter where I search, I cannot find the program, anywhere. I even used the Search program to search the computer for the .exe file or any kind of file for 2.0. Movie Maker 2.0 is not even on the application list in the Control Panel. So, I tried again, and again and so on. The application claims that the program has successfully installed Movie Maker 2.0 on the computer, however it is still no where to be found. I have no clue why it will not install. When the application first runs to install, it extracts InstMsia.exe and mm20.msi. Then I follow the instructions to install (Click Next). Then it begins to install. First it "Generates Script Options For Install", then "Updates Registry" , then "Registers the Product", and finally "Removes Backup Files".

I do not know what is wrong with my computer. I do have Windows XP and a year old Dell Laptop. Basically, the program claims to install, but it does not and the computer shows no record of an update!

If you can help, please do!

"C:\Program Files\Movie Maker\moviemk.exe"

If it installed, it should be in the above location. When you install it,
is the account under which you are logged in to XP an Administrative
account?

Nope, I have tried that. I found out I am runnng version 1.1, but I am not sure if that is the source of the problem. Thank-you anyway for helping. Any other advice would be helpful too.

Some additional information:

mm20enu.exe 11.9 MB

I checked under Control Panels / Add-Remove Programs. Windows Movie Maker
2, though installed on my system, is not listed.

I do have "Windows XP Creativity FunPacks - Windows Movie Maker 2" listed.
If you downloaded the mm20enu.exe program, perhaps the download was
defective. Ensure its' 11.9 MB in size. Though it may take awhile via
modem, try re-downloading the program.

If you have a cable modem with proxy-server enabled, try disabling the
proxy-server before you perform the download. I've had problems in the past
with large file downloads via proxy-server.
