Movie Maker 1 vs Movie Maker 2

I am trying to grab frames from a short video clip in order to make some
small photos. The video was recorded at 30 frames/sec. However when I
advance frame by frame using WMM2, it advances approx 0.07 sec which
corresponds to 15 frame/sec - consequently I seem to be missing every other
frame (which happens to be the one's I would like). At work, using MM 1, the
frames advance at 0.03 sec intervals, corresponding to 30 fps.

Any ideas why I can't see every frame on MM 2?

PapaJohn, thanks for the reply, but I'm not sure what you are telling me.
"Movie Maker in Vista" ????? A this point, do I have the capability to
cature those "missing" frames to a jpeg file? Suggestions?

thanks again - just purchased Photo Story 3 - look forward to working with
it and your website.

Vista is the next operating system after XP... I'm beta testing Movie Maker
in it...

I've found that it you go the end of the file and then go backwards, you can
sometimes see the in-between frames.....

And you can always use something like TMPGEnc to take a WMV file and make
still pix from each frame...

... Suggestions? ...

Install (or actually restore) WMM1 which can work alongside WMM2.

You can just copy one file from your work machine "moviemk.exe" and bring it
home. Rename it to say moviemk1.exe and place it alongsiode the current
moviemk.exe file of WMM2 at "C:\Program Files\Movie Maker\"

Also you may actually be able to find the old file in your xp's system
backup folders... search for moviemk.exe in your system folders (including
hidden ones) and see the dates of these files. Remember not to overwrite the
existing movimk file in Movie Maker folder when copying into Movie Maker
folder.
