Can someone tell me what the heck is going on. I did everything that was said to do on this computer and my video play back freezez on some parts and my audio is also choppy on some parts of my recording back to DV. Im working with 128mb of RAM. I was told I should have more ram than 128 can someone please give me some pointers ...

Thanks in advance,

Hello there,

If I remember correctly XP requires a minimum of 96MB of ram simply to
start up. As soon as you start using Movie Maker the required amount of RAM
can go up to 540MB (according to my RAM watcher) From that its easy to see
that 128MB of ram places a severe burden on your system when trying to run
MM. I'm fairly certain that once you increase the amount of RAM you have
most if not all of your mentioned problems will go away.

Yesterday I purchased 512MB of DDR RAM (PC2700) and it cost UK £70.00
(around US $120) If your computer came with 128MB of RAM that would
indicate the RAM you want is probably SDRAM which is, in England at least,
a heck of a lot cheaper. Do check with someone who knows for certain what
RAM you need first.

Movie Maker requires 128 megabytes (MB) of RAM or higher and 32 megabytes
(MB) of VRAM or higher but Microsoft also recommends 256 megabytes (MB) or
higher of RAM 64 megabytes (MB) of non-UMA VRAM or higher. You might have
other programs running which might not allow MM to run. The system
requirements are at:

Hello There,

To all of you who sent emails about the website, and for any of you who
might wonder what's going on....I took an overdose of idiot pills some time
this afternoon....and deleted most of the website from the server!!! I
actually sat there watching one directory after another vanish and thinking
"that seems to be taking rather a long time" Well it took long enough for
most of the site to disappear.

The complete web site is now uploading, as it is rather large this will
take some time to achieve So please hang on...service will be resumed as
soon as the idiots pills wear off!
