Does anyone know what what the copyrights/usage restrictions are for
Hollywood movie clips in a commercial presentation? Clips would range from 30
seconds to 60 seconds a piece.
Thanks!
I am not a lawyer, but I have some experience with copyright issues.
However, most of my experience is in the non-commercial domain. My
understanding is that your fair-use rights are very limited for commercial
purposes. If this were for face-to-face instruction in a not-for-profit
school environment, you would be able to use up to 3 minutes or 10% of
video, whichever is less. You probably either need to get permission or find
an alternative. While I haven't found a great deal of video in this way, you
might try searching for Creative Commons-licensed material that is not
designated as non-commercial. You can find millions of pictures and many
songs that have this sort of license. You can start by searching
