Does anyone know how to view these files? I presume there is an application
that I must install that will make it possible. What is this application and
is it hard to set things up??

Thanks in advance.

As you've not told us what format the clips are in, I couldn't possibly
hazard a guess.

HHmmm...that response looks very Brit in it's composure....

I've no idea what that's supposed to mean. You know, I've reported you to
your ISP on many occasions, but I guess they condone trolls...

Cerri..

reported...reported what......just what have I done to warrant any
sanction.....your compaining is very babyish to say the least...

Well I guess you've only got your own standards to compare me with. I don't
troll - I don't change my handle every time I post. If it looks like a
duck...

then p l e a s e stop stalking me......you have got to find something
more worthwhile to do with your life.....like helping those female friends
of yours with their PC's.....but make sure you know what you are doing
before you tell them YOU can fix it.....not troll for corrective action
here...OK, Mate.

Holy Cow!!

Did I start all this bashing? I thought I just asked a simple question
about Movie Clip CD's. What application do I need to make this work for me
and is it going to be difficult to setup??

If I am out of line please let me know.

Ted..
No..no...it's not you.....or your post...I think I have a Brit stalker on my
hands.....seems he really enjoys searching for me.....

Take Care...

And I asked you what format are the clips in?

Possible formats include

AVI
MPEG
ASF
WMA
WMV
QuickTime
RMA (RealPlayer)

If you don't tell us, then how are we supposed to tell you what to use to
play them?!

And don't mind Mel. What you have to realise is that Mel, Patrick, Henry are
the same person. He enjoys talking to himself. He's got at least another two
dozen personalities as well.

You've not done anything wrong.

OK on me having done nothing wrong. Thanks guys. It is appreciated.

Well my search for Movie Clip CD's is from NewsGroups. In various
NewsGroups there are movie clips I guess that are broken down by message.
And somehow they are able to be viewed..??

I think it is like 'combining' messages to form a picture. So, I can than
only presume that the same thing is being done with the Movie Clips. And
since I know so little about this, I can't venture a thought on the format.

Simply put - some Newsgroups have messages that can be viewed as Movie Clips
but through some type of program. I heard it mentioned that 'xProxy' is
involved. And I have seen these Clips as being referred to as 'movie clip
CD's (yEnc).

I hope this additional information might be more helpful??

It is. The problem is that you're using OE which doesn't support decoding
yEnc by default (yEnc is a form of compression designed to make posting
large files to Usenet easier). Unfortunately, it isn't standard and only
Forte Agent supports it natively.

There is a workaround. A yEnc decoder can be downloaded from
http://tinyurl.com/u1vt. You need to enter your NNTP server details and
start it BEFORE running OE. It will then 'translate' the posts into
something OE can handle.

I also recommend NewsBin (www.newsbin.com) which can be set to download
files from multiple groups simultaneously. I have been using it for years.
It is shareware though, but well worth the registration fee.
