Does anybody know how (if possible) to move outlook 2000
mail folders and contacts listing to my 2nd hard-drive.
In the past 10 months I had my Master HD crash twice,
lost all my e-mail and contacts listing both times....
would like to put them on the 2nd HD so If my HD crashed,
I would not loose my e-mail and contacts.

Yep, no problem at all. Just move them there and reopen outlook. When it
complains, just redirect it to where you have put the files.

For Outlook 98 & 2000

- If the folder list is not visible, select View > Folder List.
- For each root folder, right click and select properties
- Select Advanced button.
- Note pathname/filename. (For the one that starts with Outlook Today
make a special notation)
- Click OK twice
- For each root folder that doesn't start with outlook today.
- Right click and select Close
- Close Outlook and any other mapi enable apps.
- Move all PSTs noted from above.
- Start Outlook.
- You will be presented with an error about the missing file and given a
change to locate it.
- Use the File Open dialog to locate the moved PST file. (Use the one that
we made a special notation for)
- Outlook will complain about the change in location and offer to rebuild
the outlook bar. Let it.
- Use File > Open > Personal Folder to open remaining PST files.
- Double check your Rules, since these have a tendency to get munged.

NOTE: The Journal get munged as well. At this time there is no way to
correct the links.

The easiest way I know is to copy your "pst" file to the
other drive.

Not knowing your OS, you could do a search "*.pst" (don't
use the ""}. It will probably be in c:\windows or
c:\winnt. Simply copy the .pst file and paste it to a
folder on the other drive.

If you have a failure, you can then go the File\Import-
Export to restore it to an new Outlook installation. Of
course you should do this little chore weekly.
