Hi Jody,

It sounds like a corrupted file.

If you can't resort to a backup copy of the file I would suggest you peform
a Google search for a data recovery specialists.

Hi Eric -

Any idea what led to the file 'corruption'? Just random?
The only possibility I can come up with has to do with 'pc
anywhere'...the 'corrupted' file was on a pc that we use
as a server, accessible through a mapped drive
(drive 'Z'). Instead of keeping a monitor, keyboard &
mouse attached to the server, I use 'pc anywhere' to view
the desktop of the server from my workstation. Is it
possible that some combination of accessing the file or
folder with 'pc anywhere' and then trying to access it at
the same time with the 'Z' drive (through windows
explorer, for instance) could cause it to lock up? I
don't know that I did that but I don't know that I didn't,
either. I just want to avoid making this mistake again.
We did have a back-up of the file, but it still entails
some re-entry...

Thank you again for your help - any suggestion is
welcome...

Hi Jody,

Common causes of database file corruption is inadverently dropping the
network connection while in the database file. Example, user in database
file editing some records then drops network connection (corruption will
not happen 100% of the time but it's common).

I hope this helps! If you have additional questions on this topic, please
respond back to this posting.
