I just bought a new Maxtor 160 GB hard drive ( 7,200 RPM, 8 Meg Cache_).

Since its so much faster and roomier than the 30 GB Seagate that my system
is currently running I want to make it my primary disk and move my entire
system onto it.

What's the most painless way to move XP Professional to a new home?
(FWIW I already own Norton Ghost as apart of Norton Systemworks)

Thanks,

DonW

Apparently Ghost, by itself, won't do it. I just ghosted a 38Gb primary
partition from my old drive to a 78 Gb partition on my new drive. The files
are all there. However, when I disconnected the old drive I get a boot that
hangs without allowing login.

Windows XP Pro, SP-2
