I am running Windows 2000/Server Envoirment. Currently
there are not many users, the user's MyDocuments are
shared directories from a storage server(NAS).. When they
delete anything from their MyDocuments they are directly
permenantly deleted... Is there a way to redirect their
deletation to Recycle Bin of local machine for that
account.
Any help would be very helpful...

-Thanks

As far as I know, that's the behavior of mapped drive/directories. If there
is a way to change this, I'd be interested. Several times, important files
were deleted and when I was asked "Can I undelete it", the answer was "No".
We do have tape backups, but that's only practical when it's *REALLY*
important..... Having a "network re-cycle" bin would be very handy.

Hank and SX,

there are programs out there that will do this, such as Undelete and File
Scavenger. Having said that, I haven't used or tested them, but it's a step
in the right direction for you (hopefully!) if you're looking to add that
functionality.

HTH,
Katherine
