W2K Pro client - W2K Server.
If I have a laptop setup to use a server share offline, and lets also assume
the client connects to the server over a WAN link and we are looking at
600MB of data. The initial Offline Files sync was done with the client
connected to the same LAN as the server and was therefore done at
high-speed. Any syncs from then on are incremental and WAN or DSL links are
not a problem.
What if I want to move the user on to a new laptop and they won't ne heading
back to the server LAN anytime soon? Syncing 600MB across a WAN link is time
consuming; is there anyway to move the C:\Winnt\CSC folder from one machine
to another? While I can copy files off the old laptop out of the Offline
Files Folder cache, I don't seem to be able to copy them into the cache of
the new laptop. Suppose some sort of pre-staging is what I am trying to do.
Note that I am not interested in using the CACHEMOV utility in the Res Kit
because this is for moving between partitions on the same machine.
Any help is appreciated.
