Move HD from 1 server to another?

I would like to move the Hard drive from one W2K server
and put it in another. When I tried this, I received a
blue screen asking that I recheck that I properly shut
down W2K and that I should run defrag.

Can I take the hard drive and place it in a different
server and have it work?

How similar/dissimilar are the 2 servers?

Normally, unless the new motherboard is virtually identical to the
old one (same chipset, IDE controllers, etc), you'll most likely need
to perform a repair (a.k.a. in-place upgrade) installation, at the
very least (and don't forget to reinstall any service packs and
subsequent hot fixes):
