move files and folers option

I had to perform recovery on my computer and after doing so, when I right
click on a file or folder the option to move or copy to is gone. I cannot
move files or folders from another location. Also cannot transfer from cd or
flash drive to computer. Thanks in advance for any help you can give me!

What does "perform recovery" mean? Exactly how did you do this?

What happens when you try to move or copy files other ways--for
example by dragging them, or using Ctrl C or Ctrl-X, then Ctrl V?
 
I was locked out of computer and could not remember password so I used
recovery discs to return computer to factory condition.

I asked two questions. Please answer the other one too.
 
I can use alt to open menue bar and clickon edit and the option to move to or
copy to is on the drop down menue there.

I'm going to try one more time, and then give up if I don't get an
answer. Here's the question again; please read it carefully: What
happens when you try to move or copy files other ways--for example by
dragging them, or using Ctrl C or Ctrl-X, then Ctrl V?
 
Can do nothing with the options you suggested or maybe I don't understand
what you are asking. Iam not explaining the problem. Sorry. Try again.
Before when worked with pictures for example I could right click on the item
and a window would give options such as rename, delete, move to folder, copy
to folder etc. Now the options are different such as play or open in media
player(?), send to, cut, copy, etc. The drop down window is not the same
upon right click on object as before. I can press alt to bring up menu bar
at top of page click edit and the drop down window has the option move to
folder and copy to folder which was the option I am inquiring about. Sorry I
am not doing a good job explaining. If you cannot understand or help I will
understand. I thank you for your time have always had great results here and
will always use the site. Thanks much!
 
Thanks much for the help! Was little afraid to mess with the registry, but
got the courage to try and it worked! I now know what I should have been
inquiring about (context menu) I apologize to Ken for the lack of knowledge
to explain and appreciate his attention! Again thanks to both of you!!!!!
